Dear participant,

Thank you for registering your interest in participating in KD²Lab studies! Before you proceed with registration, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the important rules and guidelines outlined below. The comprehensive terms of participation, rules, and privacy information that require your active consent can be found at the bottom of this page.

Please note that you are eligible to register only if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are at least 18 years old at the time of registration.
  • You possess proficiency in German and/or English.
  • You are currently enrolled as a student.
  • You have unrestricted or corrected vision and hearing and are capable of working on a PC without aids or assistance.
  • You have a bank account within the SEPA area where compensation can be transferred.

Before registering, please familiarize yourself with the key KD²Lab rules:

  • Providing false information during registration or registering multiple times is not allowed and may result in exclusion.
  • We rely on your reliability! If you register for a specific study appointment, your registration is binding. Cancellation is possible up to 12 hours before the appointment, after which only in exceptional cases by email to the lab management. Failure to attend after registration may lead to exclusion from future studies.
  • Only registered individuals are permitted to participate. This means you cannot have someone else participate on your behalf. Sharing your personal participation link for online studies is prohibited.
  • During a study, all participants must strictly adhere to the rules specified in the instructions. Violation of these rules may result in exclusion from the study and withholding of compensation.
  • You will receive compensation for participating in a study, with the amount varying between individual participants and different studies. Typically, compensation is provided via bank transfer and may be subject to income tax. You are responsible for complying with your tax obligations, including tax reporting.

Languages
At KD²Lab, there are approximately an equal number of German and English studies. It is crucial that you can correctly understand all instructions and information in the studies. Misunderstandings can have a negative impact on your compensation and can distort the study results – this would be detrimental to both you and us. If neither German nor English is your native language, it is essential that you have a high level of proficiency (C1/C2) in at least one of these languages. Otherwise, participation is unfortunately not possible. Please provide honest information.

If you are not a student, we would like to draw your attention to the Digital Citizen Science platform, wir-forschen.digital. There, you can find numerous exciting opportunities to participate in studies and support various research projects.

Presence studies require your presence on site (usually at the KD²Lab in Karlsruhe). Online studies do not require your presence at a specific location, you can participate via the internet.
